Designing Luggage For Chase and British Airways
What an eventful few months, from booking my second trade show A/W Top Drawer to being commissioned by Chase and British Airways to design luggage for their Luggage Tagged Sweepstakes over in the US. It's been a whole lot of fun which has re-ignited travel-related ideas I've had for a long while.
Firstly I was approached by JP Morgan earlier in the year to work on a project for two huge clients who I soon realised were British Airways and Chase. The two brands were partnering together to run Luggage Tagged Sweepstakes in the US for customers to be in with the chance of winning 1 million avios and a set of luxury luggage designed by a British designer aka Freya Niamh Design. The brief was to design 5 bespoke illustrations depicting 5 of the places that British Airways flies to including New York, Paris, London, Cape Town, and Santorini which after a few sketches and concept boards we decided would be patterns illustrating some of the highlights of each location in bright and bold colour palettes.
As with all my projects I began by researching each location, collecting contextual images, designing mood-boards, experimenting with colour palettes, and sketching ideas based on their initial thoughts.
Along with the designs I also created a series of behind the scenes instagram posts which you can view here.

Those were the initial ideas and here are the final designs...
The most enjoyable project I've had the pleasure to work on, I can't wait to see what's next!
