Treat Your Mother Hen This Mother’s Day
If you've been following along on my socials recently you'll know that I've loved a little experiment at pattern design. I honestly think I've found my new joy in life... surface patterns. So for this collection, I've continued the theme.
This mothers day I first became inspired by the mother hen, a symbol of warmth, comfort, and protection. Pecking at predators, sheltering chicks from the cold and sitting on top of their eggs until they hatch. A chicken is a superior role model (apart from the cow-pat eating part). Not to mention I watched my own mum take care of our chickens for as long as I can remember, even putting one in her bra at one point to keep it warm. For my new chicken print I designed one yellow glossy greetings card and one new wrapping paper sheet in pink. The perfect pop of colour to glam up your mother’s day gift.
Alongside chickens, florals are a must for any mother’s day, I don't care if it's cliche there’s nothing that cheers my mum up like a fresh bouquet of flowers to brighten up the kitchen.
I've wanted to design a floral pattern for the longest time so I took mother’s day as an opportunity to go wild! Here's to many more botanical patterns to come. 😍 Again I have my bouquet pattern print available as a glossy greeting card and a sheet of wrapping paper. The wrapping paper is A2 (420mm x 597mm) in size and is folded to A5.
