UK Staycation 2021: London Art Prints
Despite the proposed restrictions on travel this year I can imagine that for most people, myself included, this year’s summer holidays are the absolute most exciting thing to look forward to in 2021. The Great British staycation is where it’s at with places such as Cornwall, Scotland and the Lake District fully booked for the rest of the year, masses of British tourists ready to get out of their ever so repetitive routines and escape to somewhere new, if only for a couple of days. With that being said what better year than 2021 to celebrate all these beautiful UK hotspots with an exclusive new collection of artwork. I’ve been lucky enough to travel around to some of the most beautiful spots in the UK over the years and there’ve been some that I’ll never forget.
To start things off, I couldn’t really pick anywhere else but England’s no.1 city for visitors, London. I’ve chosen three of my favourite spots in the city that bring me great nostalgia and familiarity of the beautiful, historic location including the palm house at Kew Gardens, Big Ben looking over the River Thames and finally a place of many a good outing Camden Lock. Each location has been illustrated in a complementary colour palette to run as a series or individually, adding a uniquely colourful and patriotic addition to any room in the house.
Each print is available in sizes A5, A4, and A3 with larger-scale formats soon to be available to shop too. To go alongside this series I’ve designed a pattern with some of London’s most recognisable landmarks which will soon be available as wrapping paper, I’m also making a series of cute little A6 postcards of the trio which shall be up on the site very soon. I’m having so much fun with this idea at the moment and it’s kind of taken me out of my un-motivated lockdown slump planning all the places I’d like to capture over the next few months. From the Isle of Skye to Cornwall I’ve got every corner of the UK covered and I just can’t wait to get started on them all.
For now the next place on my list is North Yorkshire, my home county where I’ll be drawing some of my favourite local areas starting with Whitby…. so stay tuned folks. <3
