As Seen On BBC's DOCTOR WHO On Christmas Day
What on earth?? Eeeek! I can't believe it, my artwork was on the set of the Doctor Who Christmas special on Christmas Day. It featured next to the incredible Ncuti Gatwa, one of my absolute favourite actors AND I was watching with my family when it came on. Let's go back a few months...
Earlier in the year a set designer reached out asking for my permission to use an art print of mine on one of the sets she was designing, I was asked to sign a contract for an anonymous show being filmed in Scotland. It was only when I did a little digging that I worked out that it could be for Doctor Who, a show I've grown up with. I signed the contract, she bought the print, and I didn't think much else into it. However while flicking through the TV times on Christmas day I suddenly saw the listing for Doctor Who and asked the folks if they fancied it, with no real hopes as I wasn't 100% sure if it was for that show and if it was if it would even be used/shown on camera (I've no idea how tv/sets work) we decided to flick it on.
Anywho I told mum and dad to keep their eyes out just in case and we watched with bated breath as the actors jumped about on screen until finally, near the end of the show mum screamed out, she thought she saw a glimpse of something pink and orange we all took a sec eyes glued to the screen until would you believe it there it was a blurred image of my St Pauls Cathedral art print! The rest of the show consisted of us screaming at the actors to move back into the kitchen so that we could get a clear shot of the print and to check we weren't all dreaming.
But then, even more unbelievably, I started getting messages through from people saying they thought they'd seen my artwork on Doctor Who! The fact they even recognised my blurry little print was the most incredible feeling I've ever felt.
The artwork of the moment:
This was one of the first travel prints I ever drew. It got such a huge reaction at the time that it almost shaped my business as to what it is today with its tutti fruity sunset vibes so it felt like such a full circle moment.
You can join the doctor and pick up your (now famous hehe) artwork here: shop St Pauls print it's also available as a limited edition jigsaw...
I think this may be the best thing that's happened to me this year and I don't think I'll ever come down from the high.
Hope you've had the best Christmas ever and happy new year!! <3
